I’ll put up "A baby grows in mommy’s stomach". It’s this sort of thing that gives children misinformation that they carry with them for years. I can’t tell you how many people don’t understand basic biology well into adulthood. Oral sex can’t get someone pregnant; the gastrointestinal tract and the reproductive tracts are not connected.
So what other lies do parents tell because they find them easier or "harmless" compared to the truth?
"Lassie went to live on a farm" or "Buster ran away from home" instead of telling the child the dog actually died. Or instead of telling children family members have died, they simply say they went to a better place. My youngest cousin actually thought that his grandmother didn’t love him anymore because she went to a better place and didn’t take him with her. When I was in 5th grade the twin towers were hit, and instead of telling me, my parents wouldn’t let me watch tv or listen to the radio. I ended up hearing things in school and was so confused. It doesn’t do any good to lie to children, they’ll figure it out eventually, and then they’ll be bitter.
To me, there is only one truth, and that is the truth God reveals to us supernaturally. There is only one God, and one truth, but some think there are many ways to get to heaven, etc. Thanks for your views on this.
Because The Lord also said ‘we’ would all go our separate ‘ways’ and ‘think’ we know but without Him we know nothing. period.
